BOSTON - With one final non-conference matchup left on the schedule, the Boston University women's basketball team welcomes cross-town rival Northeastern to Case Gym on Saturday, Dec. 29. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will be broadcasted live on the Patriot League Network.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- Katie Nelson tied the program's single-game 3-point record, connecting on 7-of-10 attempts from beyond-the-arc, guiding BU to a 74-56 win over Dartmouth last Saturday.
- The Terriers also tied the single-game 3-point team record, hitting on 16-of-24 attempts.
- Nelson's seven 3-pointers tied with Katie Meinhardt '07, Alex Young '12 and Sarah Hope '17 for the single-game record.
- Maggie Pina, the two-time defending Patriot League Rookie of the Week, matched Nelson's 24-point effort, while each additionally connected on 8-of-12 from the field.
- Pina ranks fourth on the team in scoring (9.3) and is averaging 14.1 points per game over the last five games.
- Annabelle Larnard made her return to the lineup against the Big Green after missing the previous four games due to injury, posting nine points over 16 minutes of action while connecting on 3-of-3 attempts from 3-point range.
SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN
- Alexis Hill is coming off a career-high 25 points in Northeastern's most recent outing, a 66-58 victory at Maine to bring its win streak to four.
- Stella Clark (14.1) and Hill (14.0) lead the scoring attack, with each scoring in double figures in eight of 10 games.
- Clark is averaging 3.5 assists per game, which ranks sixth among CAA leaders, and has scored in double figures in all but two contests.
- Hil also leads the team in rebounds per game (5.8) and field goal percentage (.509).
- Clark, Shannon Todd and Kendall Currence are the top threats from distance, as the trio has combined for 42 of the team's 52 makes from deep.
- Now in her sixth season, Kelly Cole has turned the program around as the Huskies have made back-to-back postseason appearances.
THE SERIES
- Saturday's game marks the 78th meeting between the two Boston-based schools with the Terriers holding a 40-37 advantage in the series.
- Northeastern has the longest series with BU out of any opponent.
- The Terriers and the Huskies have met at least once every season since 1976.Â
- Both schools were members of the America East Conference until Northeastern left for the CAA in 2005.
- BU has dominated Northeastern in this millennium, as the Terriers are 17-11 against the Huskies since 2000, although the Huskies are 5-1 over the last six matchups.
- This year was the first time since the 2013-14 season where BU did not open up its season against the Huskies.
