SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Extending its win streak to five games, the Boston University softball team claimed a second doubleheader sweep with wins over Bowling Green and UConn by a combined score of 13-3 at the Upstate Classic on Saturday afternoon.

In the first matchup, the Terriers (6-3) took the lead for good against the Falcons (0-3) on freshman Nicole Amodio's third-inning solo homer and sealed the win with the help of sophomore Ali DuBois' (4-0) career-tying 13 strikeouts. BU then defeated UConn (3-4), 9-3, on 11 hits, as freshmen Julia Handfield (1-1) and Emily Gant (SV 1) limited the Huskies to just six hits. Amodio and freshman Aliyah Huerta-Leipner led the offense by combining for seven hits, seven runs scored and five RBIs.
