BOSTON - The Boston University women's basketball will honor its three-member senior class on Saturday, Feb. 23 as it welcomes Navy for a pivotal Patriot League matchup. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. and can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.

Following the conclusion of the game, the men's team will take the court in the finale of a Case Gym doubleheader against Loyola Maryland at 4:30 P.M.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • BU will honor Payton Hauck, Lauren Spearman and Naiyah Thompson prior to the start of Saturday's contest.
  • All three members of the senior class are enjoying career seasons while guiding the Terriers to be on the verge of finishing above .500 for the first time since the 2012-13 season.
  • Spearman is tied for the Patriot League in 3-pointers per game (2.2) and ranks second in minutes (37.5) and has accounted for 55 of the team's 114 makes from beyond-the-arc, good for 48.2 percent.
  • Hauck has been on fire over the last three games, leading the team in scoring in two of those games.
  • During that stretch, she averaged 15.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game and has connected on 9-of-10 from the free throw line.
  • Thompson is coming off a nine-rebound game at American, all on the defensive end.

SCOUTING NAVY

  • The Mids have dropped seven of their last nine games to stand at 10-14 overall and 5-9 in Patriot League games.
  • Navy holds the top scoring defense in the league, limiting opponents to an average of 55.8 points per game.
  • Jennifer Coleman is the lone player to average double-digit scoring figures (12.5) and also leads the Mids in rebounding (8.4) and assists (2.9) per game.
  • Coleman, who leads all Patriot League rookies in scoring, is coming off her eighth double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds in Navy's 65-53 win over Lafayette on Wednesday.
  • Kolbi Green has started eight of the last 10 games, posting at least 10 points in seven of those contests.
  • Sophie Gatzounas has chipped in with 7.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game and is coming off 10-point effort against the Leopards.

  • BU snapped a four-game skid and picked up its first win ever at Alumni Hall, 49-35, in the previous matchup Jan. 26.
  • Three of the last six matchups have been decided by three points or less.

UP NEXT
