BOSTON - The Boston University women's lacrosse team will open up a two-game homestand this week, starting the stretch off by welcoming Fairfield on Wednesday, Feb. 27. Opening draw from Nickerson Field is set for 4 p.m. and can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • Facing Hartford for the first time in program history, the Hawks proved no match for the Terriers as they pounded out a 20-2 victory Saturday morning at Al-Mazook Field.
  • Kailey Conry notched 11 points on the day, one shy of her own program record, on four goals and five assists, while 11 different Terriers found the back of the net.
  • The two goals and 18-point victory marked BU's largest margin of victory and fewest amount of goals allowed since topping Binghamton by the same score on March 12, 2006.
  • Conry is eight assists shy of setting the program's all-time assists record, held by Erica Baumgartner '11.
  • After handing out one assist in the opener at Boston College, Conry has been on fire with 11 assists over the last two games.
  • Her 3.67 assists per game ranks third among NCAA leaders, while her 5.67 points per game ranks 10th.
  • Freshman Kennady Smith has started all three games in net, while Bianca Smith has also seen action in all three games.
  • Tonianne Magnelli has won a team-best 15 draw controls and is tied for second on the team with Emily Vervlied with five ground balls.
  • Kaitlin Belval leads the squad in ground ball (6), while Vervlied holds the top rank in caused turnovers (4).
SCOUTING FAIRFIELD
  • Fairfield is coming off a 20-11 setback to Hofstra, as the Pride used a 10-0 run to hand Fairfield its first loss of the season on Saturday, though it stands at 3-1 over.
  • The Stags captured their first MAAC Championship last season, becoming the first time to ever win three MAAC postseason games on the way to the title.
  • Jillian Winwood and Taylor Mitchell are the top goal scorers, as each owns 10 on the season.
  • Brooke Gallagher is the top distributor (8) and point scorer (15) for the Stags and has 14 points over the last two games.
  • Olivia Conquest has played every minute in net, posting a 12.00 goals against average to go with a 48.4 save percentage.
  • Maggie Reynolds leads the team in caused turnovers (10), while Caroline Mangan holds the high mark in ground balls (11).
THE SERIES
  • BU is 3-0 against the Stages, while each of the last two games have been decided in overtime.
  • Kelly Mathews delivered the game-winning goal last season in Connecticut, sending in a feed from Kailey Conry.
  • Conry netted the previous game-winning goal in 2017's OT contest.

UP NEXT

  • BU will take on its second ranked opponent of the season as it welcomes No. 17 USC to Nickerson Field on Sunday, March 3 for a noon contest.
