KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Senior
Megan Carter carded the best 54-hole score of her career as the Boston University golf team concluded its spring season opener at the Kiawah Island Classic on Tuesday at Osprey Point GC.
Carter shot 74 on Tuesday to finish the week with a total of 221 (73-74-74). Playing as an individual, Carter tied for 34th thanks in part to her excellent play on the par-5s. She finished the weekend -4 on those holes en route to her best score since totaling 222 at the 2017 Harvard Invitational.
BU finished 20th in the 49-team field with a three-day score of 906 (304-304-298). The Terriers saved their best round for Tuesday, firing a 298 with all six golfers shooting 78 or lower. Juniors
Annie Sritragul (76-74-75) and
Zhangcheng Guo (79-73-73) each tied for 65th at 225. Freshman Hanako Kawsaki (71-82-74) tied for 86th with a score of 227, followed by junior
Abby Parsons (78-75-78) at 231 and sophomore
Katerina Doleckova (80-83-76) at 239.
The Terriers were the top Patriot League school in the field, finishing seven strokes clear of Navy (913) and well ahead of Lehigh (930), Richmond (933) and Bucknell (939).
BU will return to competition on March 13 at the Pinehurst Invitational.
