BOSTON - Returning to Lehigh Valley for the second straight weekend, the Boston University women's basketball team will look to sweep the Mountain Hawks as it readies for its Saturday, Feb. 9 matchup. Tip-off from Stabler Arena is set for 2 p.m. and can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.

PATRIOT LEAGUE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

  • Riley Childs was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after scoring in double figures in back-to-back games for the first time this season.
  • Childs posted a stat line of 10.5 points and 6.0 rebounds for the week, guiding BU to a comeback win at Lafayette before aiding the Terriers to overcome a 17-point deficit against Bucknell.

HALFWAY THERE

  • BU is off to its best start ever as a member of the Patriot League with a 6-4 record.
  • The Terriers have already passed their conference win total from last season.
  • The 2016-17 season was BU's best showing in Patriot League games, where it stood at 5-4 at the halfway mark before finishing with an 11-7 conference record.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • For the third straight game, BU overcame a halftime deficit, this time battling back from a 17-point difference, through Bucknell held on to hand the Terriers a 62-58 defeat Saturday afternoon at Case Gym.
  • Katie Nelson accounted for 15 points in the second half, including a 4-for-6 mark in 3-pointers as part of a game-high 22 points. 
  • Nia Irving followed with 15 points and led the team with nine rebounds, while Riley Childs followed posted 11 points to go with eight boards.
  • Irving leads the team in scoring (13.2), which ranks seventh in the league, and also leads the Terriers in rebounding (8.7), good for fifth among Patriot League leaders.
  • Lauren Spearman leads the Patriot League in 3-pointers per game (2.5) and ranks second in minutes (37.2).
  • Nelson has two 20-point games over the last three contests and ranks ninth with a 13.7 scoring average in Patriot League games.
  • BU has heavily relied upon its starting five this season as Hauck, Irving, Nelson, Spearman and Thompson have accounted for 80.5 percent of the Terriers' minutes.
  • In Patriot League games, those five are responsible for 84.3 percent of the team's total minutes.
  • Nelson, Spearman, Hauck and Irving account for four of the top five leaders in minutes in Patriot League games.

SCOUTING LEHIGH

  • The Mountain Hawks own the third-longest win streak in the Patriot League, winning four in-a-row to vault ahead of BU to third place in the league standings.
  • Lehigh has defended Stabler Arena with a 10-3 record on its home floor.
  • Lehigh owns the top scoring defense in the league, surrendering just 55.3 points per game, and holds the second-best scoring margin (9.1) in the league.
  • Camryn Buhr, who is coming off a 20-point performance in Lehigh's most recent outing, a 66-55 win vs. Navy, leads the team with 12.1 points per game.
  • Cameryn Benz is the top threat on the glass with 6.9 rebounds per game, while Hannah Hedstrom is the team leader in assists (3.0) and steals (1.8) per game.

THE SERIES

  • BU held Lehigh to just two points in the first quarter in the first matchup Jan. 12, as a stout defensive effort paved the way for a 58-45 victory.
  • The win snapped a three-game losing streak to the Mountain Hawks.
  • The 45 points remain the lowest scoring total for Lehigh through 21 games this season.
