DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Boston University golf team competed at the Babs Steffens Invitational hosted by Stetson University on Sunday and Monday at the LPGA International.
BU saved its best golf for Monday's final round, as the Terriers combined for a score of 300 en route to a seventh-place finish in the 12-team field. BU completed the 54-hole tournament with a total of 941 (320-321-300), just five strokes behind sixth-place Albany and six shots back of fifth-place Richmond. Lamar won with a score of 901.
Freshman
Hanako Kawasaki was outstanding on Monday, firing an even-par 72. Kawasaki finished in a tie for eighth with a 54-hole score of 225 (78-75-72), her second straight top-10 performance. Three of her eight birdies this week came on Monday.
Junior
Zhangcheng Guo also shined during the final round, shooting a one-over 73. She also recorded eight birdies this week and tied for 19th with a score of 233 (82-78-73). Sophomore
Katerina Doleckova played as an individual and tied for 24th with a score of 236 (81-76-79).
Senior
Megan Carter carded a 241 (80-82-79) to tie for 44th while junior
Abby Parsons shot a final-round 76 to finish 54th at 244 (82-86-76). Junior
Annie Sritragul played only the first and third rounds, shooting an 80 on Sunday and an 82 on Monday.
BU will next compete at the Bryan National Collegiate, hosted by Wake Forest, on March 29-31 at Bryan Park GC in Browns Summit, North Carolina.
