BOSTON - Looking for its fourth straight win, the Boston University women's lacrosse team will welcome Colgate to Nickerson Field on Wednesday, March 27 for a 5 p.m. start. Wednesday game can be seen on NESN as well as the Patriot League Network.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • The Terriers posted an 18-8 win over Lafayette at home on Saturday to improve to 2-0 in league play.
  • Emily Vervlied repeated as the Patriot League Midfielder of the Week after pacing the Terriers with a career-high five goals and a game-high five caused turnovers.
  • Kaitlin Belval leads the Terriers in goals (19), and has 12 goals over the last five games.
  • Lexi Lewis has netted hat tricks and four-point efforts in each of the last two games.
  • Vervlied has 10 goals over the last three games, while 11 of her 15 points on the season have come during that stretch.
  • BU has proved to be one of the top offenses in the conference, topping the league in points (21.22), assists (7.44) and is tied for the lead in goals (13.78) per game and is nearly doubling its point total from last season (11.83).
  • The Terriers are also getting it done on the defensive end of the field, limiting opponents to just 9.74 goals per game, which ranks second in the Patriot League.
SCOUTING COLGATE
  • Colgate picked up a 13-10 win over Holy Cross on Saturday to snap a five-game losing streak, bumping its record to 3-6 overall and an even 1-1 in conference games.
  • Noelle Patterson and Tara Atkinson lead the Raiders with 21 points apiece, while Patterson is the leading in goals (17), and Atkinson is the primary distributor with 10 assists.
  • Danielle Van Calcar is the top threat on the draw (26) and has chipped in with 11 goals and six assists.
  • Samantha Croston ranks second in the Patriot League in saves per game (10.29) and has stopped .473 percent of shots on frame.
  • Croston also leads the league in ground balls (52) and ground balls per game (3.06).
THE SERIES
  • BU defeated Colgate in its inaugural postseason matchup the last time the two squads met up, handing the Raiders a 14-9 defeat in the Patriot League Tournament quarterfinals.
  • With the win, BU improve to 7-5 in the all-time series against Colgate.
  • Colgate took last season's regular season game, 12-8, using a non-releasable Terrier penalty to score four goals in a two-minute span to take a 10-6 lead with 5:45 left and never looked back.
