Terriers Continue Outdoor Season at Multiple Meets

Results for Raleigh Relays | Stanford Invite | River Hawk Invite


The Boston University men's and women's track & field teams continued their outdoor season with a very busy weekend, competing at four separate meets across the country on Friday and Saturday with a large portion of both teams competing at the Raleigh Relays and the Stanford Invite.

Event: Raleigh Relays

TOP PERFORMERS - WOMEN
  • Freshman Andrea Claeson finished eighth in the 1500m run with a time of 4:29.72 and in 36th place in a large and deep field of 120 runners. Claeson's time is the second-best in the PL so far this outdoor season. In the same event, Coco Ocker finished with a time of 4:39.46 and in 56th place. 
  • Abigail Gugel finished the 10,000m run with an excellent time of 34:56.97, in 25th place in a field of 42 and fastest in the PL. 
  • Corinne Batsu had a strong performance in the 5000m run, finishing with a time of  17:47.30, tops in the PL.  
  • The 4x400m relay team of Anna Foreman, Leah Fowlkes, Emily Turner and Jordan Coverson finished ninth with a time of 3:46.31, best in the Patriot League. 
TOP PERFORMERS - MEN
  • Alexander Seal competed in the 3000m steeplechase and finished with a time of 9:07.70 and in 19th place in a field of 58. Seal's time is currently second-fastest in the PL. 
  • Six Terriers competed in the 1500m run and were led by Marcel Aubry, who finished with a time of 3:56.53 and in 76th place in a field of 120. 
  • Brett Davidson competed in the final event on Friday night, the 10,000m run and finished 26th with a time of 30:31.61 in a field of 65. Davidson's time is currently the best 10,000m time in the Patriot League.  
  • The Terriers also competed in the 1500m relay and took 11th with a time of 16:11.84 in a field of 17.

TOP PERFORMERS - WOMEN
  • Bridget Chiaravalle competed in the 100m hurdles prelims and finished 21st with a time of 14.66. 
  • Kennedy Jones competed in the triple jump and finished fourth with a jump of 12.33 meters (40'5.5"), tops in the PL. 
  • Lovie Burleson finished ninth in the long jump with a 5.64m  (18'6") effort. 
  • Bridget Bishop took seventh in the shot put with a 13.34m (43'9.25") throw. In the same event, Sarah Cicchetti finished eighth with a 13.31m (43'8") effort, a new personal best.
  • Alicia Thomas competed in the 200m dash and finished 19th with a time of 24.63, a new personal best and third best in the PL. 
TOP PERFORMERS - MEN
  • Chiebuka Onwuzurike  competed in the 100m dash and finished with a time of 10.52, in seventh place and just .04 seconds off the BU school record and also best in the PL. Onwuzurike also finished seventh in the 200m dash with a time of 21.58. 
  • Clint Lockwood competed in the hammer throw and finished eighth with a throw of 48.20m (158'2").

TOP PERFORMERS - WOMEN
  • Laura Parkinson won the 800m run with a time of 2:18.10, setting a new personal best. 
  • Angela Castronuovo took seventh in the 3000m run with a time of 10:38.20 while in the same event Dominique Betterbed finished eighth (10:40.06).
  • Kalie Mathis was seventh in the 1500m with a time of 5:05.00 in a field of 17. 
  • In the field, Zoe Meinelschmidt finished second in the javelin throw with a throw of 35.72 meters (117'2'). 
TOP PERFORMERS - MEN
  • Logan Broedner finished 17th in the 3000m run with a time of 8:58.41 in a field of 40. 
  • Hayden Jennings took fourth in the 800m run with a time of 1:58.12, a new personal best.
  • Declan Ritzenthaler won the pole vault competition with a personal best vault of 4.75 meters (15'07"). 
  • In the field, Victor Figueroa took fifth in the javelin with a toss of 51.64 meters (168'5"), a personal best.

In addition, Zach Prescott competed at the Tufts Snowflake Invite in the 3000m steeplechase. Prescott finished second with a time of 9:43.79.
