BOSTON - The No. 3 Boston University women's lightweight rowing team will continue its spring season this Saturday, competing against No. 4 Harvard and No. 7 MIT in the annual Lightweight Beanpot on the Charles River.
Racing is schedule to begin at 7:12 a.m. with the 4x race, followed by the 2V4+ at 7:36am, and the 3V8 at 8:00am with the V4+ race to follow at 8:24am. The varsity eight race between three of the top 10 lightweight boats in the country is set for 8:48am.
In last year's Beanpot, the Terriers swept Harvard and MIT in all four races on the day, winning the V8, 4x, V4 and 2V4 competitions. It was the third-consecutive Lightweight Beanpot win for the Terriers.

After racing on Saturday, the BU women's rowing program will also celebrate Senior Day and will honor the Class of 2019.
"Defending the Beanpot Trophy is an important step towards our post season goals," said lightweight rowing head coach
Malcolm Doldron. "In a year of incredibly tight racing, we know we will be tested by our Charles River rivals, Harvard-Radcliffe and MIT. The Beanpot will also mark our final race on the Charles River by our outstanding senior class. We look forward to celebrating their four years of outstanding commitment, hard work, and dedication to BU lightweight rowing."
After this weekend's competition, the Terriers will compete at the 2019 Eastern Sprints in Worcester, Mass. on May 5th
