CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Concluding its three-game road trip to open the season, the Boston University women's soccer team could not recover from early strikes by Boston College, falling by a final score of 3-0 to the Eagles Thursday night at Newton Campus Soccer Field.
The Eagles scored twice within a five-minute span to start the game before tacking on an insurance goal in the 75th minute.
How It Happened
- Taylor Kofton nearly put the Terriers on the board in the eighth minute, lofting a shot from 20 yards out that trimmed the top of the crossbar.
- Gaby Carreiro delivered the opening goal in the 10th minute, capitalizing on a loose ball in the box off a corner to stake an early 1-0 advantage.
- The Eagles struck again five minutes later, as Jade Ruiters stroked a one-timer from the top of the box that snuck just inside the right post.
- After limiting BC to just one shot through the first 22 minutes of the second half, Gianna Mitchell put the game all but out of reach in the 75th minute.
