EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Boston University golf team is in third place after the first two rounds of the Mary Fossum Invitational, hosted by Michigan State at Forest Akers West Golf Course.
BU finished the first round in second place thanks to a total of 303, just five shots behind the No. 15 Spartans. The Terriers then combined for a 308 during the second 18 holes to end the day with a score of 611, just three strokes back of second-place Western Kentucky (308). Michigan State leads with a total of 588.
Sophomore
Hanako Kawasaki (75-74--149) and freshman
Kristen Min Ju Kim (74-75--149) will start Monday's third round in a tie for sixth place. Kim sank four of her five birdies on the day during the second round while Kawasaki carded three of her four birdies during her second 18.
Junior
Katerina Doleckova (76-79) is tied for 23rd with a score of 155, followed by seniors
Abby Parsons (76-80--158) and
Zhangcheng Guo (81-80--161) tied for 33rd and 42nd, respectively.
The 11-team field will tee off at 9:00 tomorrow morning in a shotgun start.
