EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Boston University golf team finished fourth at the 54-hole Mary Fossum Invitational, which concluded on Monday afternoon at Forest Akers West Golf Course.
Playing at Michigan State for the first time in program history, BU combined for a two-day total of 922 (303-308-311), just two shots behind third-place Princeton (311-303-306--920). The host Spartans won the event with a score of 884.
Freshman
Kristen Min Ju Kim (74-75-77) placed 10th with a score of 226 while sophomore
Hanako Kawasaki (75-74-79--228) tied for 13th. Senior
Abby Parsons (78-80-75) led the Terriers on Monday with a final-round 75 to finish tied for 22nd with a total of 233. Junior
Katerina Doleckova (76-79-80--235) tied for 27th and senior
Zhangcheng Guo (81-80-80--241) tied for 43rd. Guo led the Terriers with six birdies during the two days of competition.
BU will next compete on Tuesday, Oct. 1, when the Terriers host the University of Stirling for a match play event at Thorny Lea Golf Club in Brockton, Mass.
