Terriers to Clash With UConn in Hartford on Sunday

BOSTON - Contending in its fifth road game over a six-game stretch, the Boston University women's soccer team will contend against UConn on Sunday, Sept. 8 in its non-conference road finale. Duo to construction on the athletic facilities on UConn's Storrs campus, the game will take place in Hartford at Dillon Stadium.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU and fell 4-0 to Princeton Thursday night to drop its third straight road contest.
  • Morgan Messner put forth a 12-save performance against the defending Ivy League champions, marking the most saves by a Terrier netminder since Meghan Lynch stopped 12 shots at James Madison in 1997.
  • Both Messner and Amanda Fay have recorded career-high efforts this season, as Messner's 12 stops at Princeton doubled her previous career best, while Fay set a new personal mark with eight saves against Colorado.
  • BU has used a different starting lineup in all five games, while 16 Terriers have logged minutes in every game so far.
SCOUTING UCONN
  • The Huskies are coming off a 2-0 defeat at Brown on Thursday to put them all 2-2-1 overall.
  • After missing the entire 2018 season, redshirt sophomore Kess Elmore leads the team in goals (2), assists (2) and points (6).
  • Six other Huskies have filed at least one point, while 11 student-athletes have played in all five games.
  • Randi Palacios has played every minute in net, allowing 1.15 goals per game and stopping .813 percent of shots on frame.
  • Head coach Margaret Rodriguez is in her third year at the helm after taking over the reigns from Len Tsantiris, who guided the Huskies to 570 wins over his 37-year tenure.
THE SERIES
  • BU took its first lead in the series in nine years after cruising past the Huskies, 3-0, last season to improve to 6-5-0 all-time against UConn.
  • Kelly Harris scored just over a minute into the game before Chloee Sagmoe and Lauren Adelman tacked on insurance scores.
