BOSTON - Returning to Case Gym for its first Patriot League home contest, the Boston University women's basketball team will set its sights on matching up against American on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 2 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is coming off a heartbreaking 59-57 defeat at the buzzer against Lafayette Thursday night.
  • Maggie Pina led the Terriers with a career-high 26 points on 9-of-18 shooting.
  • Pina's 26 points were the most any student-athlete in the Patriot League notched on the opening night of conference play.
  • Katie Nelson (33) and Pina (24) have combined for 57 of BU's 81 makes from 3-point range.
  • Riley Childs is the top rebounder for the Terriers and is tied for 10th in the league with 6.8 boards per game.
  • Nia Irving is just 19 points of becoming the 23rd Terrier to reach the 1,000-career points milestone.
SCOUTING AMERICAN
  • Trailing by 13 points at the half against Colgate, the Eagles stormed back to steal a 63-61 outcome on Thursday for their third straight win.
  • Jade Edwards is having a breakout sophomore season, ranking second in the league in scoring average (16.8) and ranks fifth in shooting percentage (.507).
  • Edwards is coming off her fifth 20-point performance of the season against the Raiders, while Kaitlyn Marenyi notched a career-best 16 points on Thursday.
  • Indeya Sanders is the top rebounder for American (6.0) and assist provider (5.0) and ranks third in scoring (7.8) behind Marenyi (12.3).
