HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU opened the scoring 18:35 into the proceedings. Donnelly brought the puck into the offensive end and stopped at the half-wall, drawing three defenders to her. That enabled her to find a wide-open O'Leary, who had just jumped off the bench to join the play. Ava Boutilier (28 saves) stopped O'Leary's one-timer from inside the left circle, but O'Leary capitalized on the rebound for her first goal as a Terrier.
- Compher doubled the Terriers' lead just 43 seconds later. O'Leary entered the UNH zone and skated to the left corner before sending a pass back to Correia in the slot. Boutilier stopped Correia's attempt, but the rebound bounced right to Compher, and the senior deposited the puck into the open net.
- The Wildcats scored three goals in the middle period to take a 3-2 lead.
- Nearis evened the score on the power play just 6:43 into the third. Correia gave Schuler the puck at the bottom of the right circle, and the senior threaded a pass to Nearis in the slot. Nearis made no mistake for her second goal of the campaign.
- UNH responded 32 seconds later with what proved to be the game-winner.
- BU pulled Stuart in favor of an extra attacker for the final minute, but the Terriers were unable to find an equalizer.
- Correia finished the weekend with a team-high three points on three assists.
- Compher, Nearis, O'Leary and Schuler all posted multiple-point weekends.
- O'Leary became the first Terrier rookie to score a goal this season.
- Nine different Terriers recorded a point during the series.
- BU killed the only penalty it took on Saturday and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
- The Terriers scored the first two goals in both games this weekend.
