BOSTON - Remaining at Nickerson Field as part of a three-game homestand to open the season, the Boston University women's lacrosse team will take on Niagara on Friday, Feb. 14. Opening draw is set for 4 p.m. and can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU was tied with No. 5 Boston College, 5-5, at the half, but the Eagles used an 11-0 run to close out the game to top the Terriers in their season opener Wednesday.
  • Lexi Lewis put together an impressive all-around effort, as she gathered a game-high four ground balls to go with two caused turnovers and one goal.
  • Makenzie Irvine paced the offensive with two goals, while four other Terriers found the back of the net.
  • Bianca Smith earned the starting nod in net, marking her first start in a season opener, and finished with eight saves.
  • Claire Gola was the lone freshman to appear in the starting lineup.
  • Hannah Kenneally leads the Terriers with a 17-game point streak.
  • Mackenzie Howe ranks sixth in program history with 151 draw controls.
SCOUTING NIAGARA
  • Friday will mark the first game of the season for Niagara, who is coming off a 5-12 season.
  • The Purple Eagles will be without the services of Rachel MacCheyne, who broke her own single-season program goal record (60) in 2019.
  • Along with MacCheyne, Niagara lost its top three goals scorers from last year that accounted for 62.0 percent of the team's goals.
  • Shea Swartwout is the top returning point producer after notching 22 goals and 13 assists last year.
  • Maren Geiger was the primary netminder as a freshman in 2019, starting in 13 of 17 games played, posting a 12.92 goals against average and a .445 save percentage.
  • Lauren Paul anchors the defense, where she recorded team highs in ground balls (43) and caused turnovers (25) last year.
