BOSTON - Closing out its three-game homestand to open the 2020 season, the Boston University women's lacrosse team will welcome Hartford on Sunday, Feb. 16. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. and can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU earned its first win of the season on Friday, taking down Niagara 17-12.
- Makenzie Irvine notched a career-best four goals, while Ava Barry and Hannah Kenneally each posted hat tricks.
- Irvine leads the Terriers in goals (6), and has led the team in scoring in each of its first two games.
- Lexi Lewis has been all over the field, posting 10 draw controls, seven ground balls and five caused turnovers to start the year.
- Her 10 draw controls against Niagara were the most by a Terrier since Jill Horka won a single-game record 13 against Bucknell in 2016.
- Bianca Smith has started both games in net and leads the Terriers in save percentage (.407).
SCOUTING HARTFORD
- Now in its third season, Hartford posted a 2-28 record over its first two seasons, winning one game each year.
- Megan Miller set program records in goals (20) and assists (11) last season.
- Emma Privitera was named to the 2019 America East All-Rookie Team, becoming the first Hawk in program history to earn all-conference accolades.
- Privitera ranked No. 3 in the NCAA with 11.23 saves per game.
- Suzanna is the top returner at the midfield after leading the team in ground balls (30) and caused turnovers (14).
- Kaitlyn D'Andrea is the top threat on the draw for Hartford after winning 50 decisions last year.
THE SERIES
- BU won the inaugural matchup last season, 20-2, and blanked the Hawks in the second half.
- Kailey Conry notched 11 points on four goals and five assists, while 11 different Terriers found the back of the net.
- The two goals and 18-point victory marked BU's largest margin of victory and fewest amount of goals allowed since topping Binghamton by the same score on March 12, 2006.
