Women's Lacrosse Readies for Road Tilt at No. 18 Dartmouth Saturday

BOSTON – Taking the road for the first time this season, the Boston University women's lacrosse team will head to No. 19 Dartmouth on Saturday, Feb. 22. Opening draw is set for 3 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN+.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU closed out a three-game homestand in a five-day span with a 22-4 rout of Hartford on Sunday.
  • Makenzie Irvine has led the team in goals in each of its first three games, posting multi-goal efforts in each.
  • BU's three goalkeepers (Kennady SmithBianca Smith, and Arielle Hammer) split their time in net evenly in Sunday's matchup against Hartford, collectively only allowing four goals.
  • Lexi Lewis led the Terriers in draw controls (8), ground balls (4), and caused turnovers (2). 
  • Lauren Kaye scored a natural hat trick in the first half, adding to her first collegiate goals against Boston College (1) and Niagara (1). 
  • Hannah Kenneally leads the Terriers with a 19-game point streak.
SCOUTING DARTMOUTH
  • Dartmouth is coming off its 13th Ivy League championship after going 6-1 in league play and finished the 2019 season at 11-6 overall.
  • The Big Green topped UMass, 15-11, in their season opener last Saturday in Amherst.
  • Ellie Carson led all players with five goals and six points against the Minutewomen.
  • Kiera Vrindten, the 2018 Ivy League Goalkeeper of the Year, has started all 45 games of her career.
  • Vrindten owns a career 11.85 goals against average and .430 save percentage.
  • Katie Bourque is the team's leading returning scorer after posting 46 points as a junior, and additionally tied for the team lead with 17 caused turnovers.
  • Alex Frank is in her first year as head coach of the Big Green. 
THE SERIES
  • Dartmouth leads the series, 16-5, and has taken the last two matchups.
  • BU is 1-10 against the Big Green in Hanover.
