Women's Basketball Visits Bucknell for Pivotal Contest Saturday

BOSTON - Hitting the road for the final time of the regular season, the Boston University women's basketball team will take on Bucknell on Saturday, Feb. 29 at Sojka Pavilion. Opening tip is scheduled for 2 p.m. and can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.

PATRIOT LEAGUE PUSH

  • BU stands in second place in the Patriot League standings with an 11-5 record.
  • The Terriers clinched a home quarterfinal game in the Patriot League Tournament with Wednesday's win over Lehigh.
  • With a win on Saturday, BU would clinch its first 12-win season in Patriot League play since joining the conference in 2013.
  • BU and Bucknell are the lone two teams in the Patriot League that have not been swept by an opponent during the regular season.
  • BU will finish no lower than fourth place in the regular season standings.
  • The Terriers would clinch the No. 2 seed with a win and a Colgate loss on Saturday.
TERRIER TIDBITS
  • Maren Durant hit two free throws with 0.8 seconds left to send BU past Lehigh, 48-47.
  • Wednesday marked the second time this season Durant has won a game from the free throw line in the final seconds.
  • The previous occurrence came Feb. 12 at Colgate when she hit two free throws with 1.5 seconds left to guide a 60-58 victory.
  • Katie Nelson has handed out at least 100 helpers for the second straight season and is two assists away from cracking the top-10 in career assists.
  • Sydney Johnson led the Terriers in assists for the second straight game, handing out five helpers.​​​​​​​
  • Liz Shean knocked down her first career baskets and chipped in with five points, while Childs grabbed 10 rebounds for the second time in three games.
  • Annabelle Larnard made her return to the lineup after missing the previous 12 games due to injury.
SCOUTING BUCKNELL
  • Bucknell clinched the Patriot League regular season title for the fourth time in five seasons with a 76-65 road win over Colgate on Wednesday.
  • Ellie Mack notched her third straight 20-point performance on 8-of-14 shooting.
  • Mack ranks third in the league in scoring (15.3), fourth in field goal percentage (.523) and ninth in rebounding (7.2).
  • Abby Kapp is the team's second-leading scorer (11.0) and leads the league with 2.6 triples per game.
  • Tessa Brugler ranks second on the team in rebounding (6.0) and third in scoring (9.8).
  • As a team, the Bison hold the top scoring defense in the Patriot League, limiting opponents to an average of 53.6 points per game.
  • Bucknell also boasts the top scoring margin (10.6) and is riding a six-game win streak.
THE SERIES
  • Childs notched 18 points and 12 rebounds to guide BU past Bucknell, 52-48, in the first game of the season series Feb. 1 in Boston.
  • BU earned its first win at Sojka Pavilion last season with a thrilling 70-62 decision over Bucknell.
  • Each of the last five games against the Bison have been decided by 10 points or less.
  • Just one out of the first eight games in the series was within a 10-point margin.
