Terriers Open Two-Game Road Stretch Saturday at Holy Cross

BOSTON - Ready for its second tilt with Holy Cross in a two-week span, the Boston University women's basketball team will head to Worcester on Saturday, Feb. 8 for a rematch against its Turnpike Trophy rival. Opening tip against the Crusaders is scheduled for 1 p.m. and can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • Riley Childs was named the Player of the Week, while Maggie Pina was tabbed the Rookie of the Wee on Monday.
  • Childs and Pina marked the first time BU has earned a sweep of the Patriot League's weekly awards.
  • Childs notched 18 points, including 12 straight between the end of the second quarter and the start of the third, and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds as BU topped Bucknell, 52-48, on Saturday.
  • Pina also was lights-out shooting the basketball, adding 15 points on a 6-of-9 clip from the floor, while Nia Irving poured in 11 points.
  • BU currently holds a 7-2 grip in the 2019-20 Turnpike Trophy series over Holy Cross.
  • The Holy Cross women's basketball team took all three matchups in last year's series, though BU dominated with a 21-3 record against the Crusaders during the 2018-19 series.
  • Now in its fifth year, the Terriers are 90-14 in Turnpike Trophy games.

  • LaBarbera additionally ranks second on the Crusaders in scoring (13.7) and Megan Swords is right behind (12.4) to go with 8.7 rebounds per game.
THE SERIES
  • BU earned a dramatic 76-70 overtime victory in the first matchup of the season Jan. 25 in Boston.
  • The Terriers erased an 18-point deficit in the second quarter to snap a three-game skid to the Crusaders.
  • Maggie Pina led all scorers with 23 points, netting 10 of those in the extra frame.
  • Four of BU's seven wins in the series have taken place at Case Gym.
