BOSTON - Larry Elswit, who has served as the general counsel contact for the Department of Athletics since 1982, was presented with the Joseph P. Mercurio Campus Community Award on Monday during The Rhettys' online ceremony.

Having worked with multiple athletic directors from Rick Taylor to Drew Marrochello, Elswit guided the department on various legal and regulatory issues in his role. He graduated from Cornell in 1970 before making his first stop on Commonwealth Ave. as a law student, earning his J.D. from BU in 1973. 

Elswit also serves as a member of the Athletics Advisory Board that works directly with the Director of Athletics to provide advisement on a multitude of issues pertaining to student-athlete success at BU. His service of close to 40 years has been invaluable, but more importantly, his advice, involvement and support of Terrier Athletics will be irreplaceable.
