TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU's last matchup was an 82-79 setback at Harvard last Saturday.
  • The Terriers set a new single-game program record with a .653 field goal percentage, and buried over 55 percent of their three-point attempts to score a season-high in points.
  • Junior Sydney Johnson led the way with 20 points and a season-best eight assists, shooting 7-for-11 from the field.
  • Classmate Maren Durant went a perfect 9-for-9 on the floor to record a career-high 18 points, adding 11 rebounds for her fourth-career double-double.
  • BU's .653 field goal percentage is the third-highest mark by a Division I program in the nation this year, and the second-highest against a Division I opponent.
  • The Terriers are also the only program in the country to have two games this season with 10+ three-pointers and a .550 percentage or higher. Their 60 percent clip (12-of-20) against UMass Lowell ranks seventh, while Saturday's 55.6 percent effort (10-of-18) is 17th.
  • BU currently ranks fourth in the nation with its .418 three-point percentage. Junior Maggie Pina leads the team with 10 triples, while Johnson's .667 clip is best on the team.
  • Johnson, Pina, Shean, and senior Riley Childs are all shooting .444 or better from beyond the arc this season.
  • In two games last week, Johnson shot 63.2 percent while averaging 16 points per game, making all five of her three-pointers and dishing out nine assists.
  • Shean has scored 30 points in her last three games after totaling 27 points in her first 16 career games. In this stretch, she is shooting .611 (11-for-18).
  • In the Patriot League, BU ranks first in field goal percentage (.466), three-point percentage (and is the only team shooting better than 36 percent), and rebounding defense (30.8 boards allowed per game).
  • The Terriers have a league-best three student-athletes in the top 10 in rebounding: Durant (10th- 6.3), Childs (8th - 7.0), and sophomore Caitlin Weimar (7th - 7.2).
  • Johnson is fifth in the Patriot League with a .493 field goal percentage, sixth with a .882 free throw percentage, and seventh with 15.3 points per game.
  • Durant's seven blocks are fourth in the conference.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
  • Northeastern's records sits at 4-2, winning three of its last four games.
  • All but one of the Huskies' opponents (Central Michigan) is a common foe for BU this year. Northeastern fell to Boston College and Yale, and beat UMass Lowell and New Hampshire, the latter of whom the Terriers host on Dec. 13. The Huskies also took down Patriot League foe Holy Cross.
  • Three Huskies average double figures. Preseason All-CAA pick Kendall Currence leads the way with 12.8 points per game. Reigning CAA Rookie of the Week Claudia Soriano averages 12.2 points and just under five assists and five steals per contest. Katie May shoots .542 from distance and cores 10.2 points per matchup.
  • As a team, Northeastern limits opponents to just 53.5 points per game, and has allowed 22.9 percent of their foes' threes to fall.
  • Last season, the Huskies went 7-13 and 6-10 in CAA play, reaching the conference quarterfinals.
  • This year, Northeastern was predicted to finish 10th in the CAA preseason poll under first-year Head Coach Bridgette Mitchell.

SERIES HISTORY
  • BU and Northeastern will meet for the 79th time, the most common opponent in Terrier history.
  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic altering BU's schedule to a conference-only format, the two teams did not face one another in the 2020 calendar year. That marked just the second time since the series began in 1976 the programs did not play one another (1977). The Terriers and Huskies played each other every season from 1978-2019.
  • The series favors BU 41-37, with the Terriers winning two of the last three matchups.
  • In the last duel on Dec. 29, 2019, BU shot 51.1 percent from the field, led by a career-high 29 points from Katie Nelson, to power a 72-56 victory at Case Gym.
  • The Terriers seek their first win on Northeastern's campus since Nov. 25, 2008.
