Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Terriers Fall to UConn, 1-0

BOSTON - The Boston University women's ice hockey team came up short at home against UConn on Saturday afternoon as an early goal was the only scoring in a 1-0 contest at Walter Brown Arena.

The Terriers now stand at 5-3-3 on the year with a 4-2-3 Hockey East mark while the Huskies are now 10-1-0 following their home-and-home sweep and are now 6-1-0 in the league.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A turnover near their blue line proved costly for the Terriers as UConn's Natalie Snodgrass broke up a play in front of the BU bench and skated in before putting the puck off the crossbar and in 7:42 into the contest.
  • Each team went on to have one power-play chance in the first but the penalty kill units were up to the task.
  • Neither team was able to generate much offense in the middle period and the Huskies continued the 1-0 lead into the final period.
  • After getting one more power-play opportunity in the second, the visitors got three more in the third but were unable to establish a multi-goal lead.
  • BU mustered a few late chances but Samantha Carpentier-Yale finished off a 15-save shutout for the Huskies to complete the sweep.
