Women's Basketball Begins Three-Game Series vs. Holy Cross Wednesday

BOSTON - Starting the first of a three-game series with Holy Cross, the Boston University women's basketball will remain at home as it welcomes Holy Cross on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Opening tip from Case Gym is slated for 6 p.m.

BU completed the weekend sweep of Army, blowing the Black Knights out 82-41 on Saturday before finishing the series with a 65-53 Senior Day victory on Sunday. Returning to Case Gym for the first time in 40 days Saturday, the Terriers were carried by the sophomore class, who outscored (58) and outrebounded (28) Army's roster. BU dominated the paint on Sunday, owning a 50-20 advantage within the key as it improved to 3-0 at home this season.

With Sunday's win, BU has matched the 1978-79 team for its best start to a season through the first nine games at 8-1. The 1978-79 team posted the best start in program history with an 8-0 record to open the season.

Holy Cross defeated Colgate, 61-40, on Saturday to snap a three-game road losing streak and move to 6-5 overall. Bronagh Power-Cassidy repeated as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after leading all scorers with 13 points to go with five rebounds and four assists against the Raiders. Avery LaBarbera (12.2) and Power-Cassidy Bronagh (11.0) lead the scoring charge, while Oluchi Ezemma is the top threat on the glass (8.3).
