CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – In the first meeting between the archrivals in nearly a year, a late-second overtime goal by Boston College's Drew Helleson was the difference as the No. 15 Boston University men's ice hockey team dropped a 4-3 decision to the top-ranked Eagles on Friday evening at Conte Forum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- BC scored the lone goal of the opening period on a Jack McBain tip from the left crease at 12:07.
- The Terriers' fourth line scored two goals less than three minutes apart early in the second to take the lead.
- DeBoer punched in a rebound at the right post following an attempt by sophomore Sam Stevens at the 3:15 mark of the second.
Soon after, Boguslavsky gave BU possession in its own zone to start a rush with DeBoer, who then dropped the puck off for Boguslavsky for a perfectly placed snapshot from the left dot to make it a 2-1 contest in the visitors' favor.
- A power-play goal by BC's Matt Boldy from the low slot made it a 2-2 affair at 11:56 of the second.
- The Eagles regained the lead on Colby Ambrosio goal off a goalmouth scramble after the Terriers lost control of the puck with 2:24 left in the second.
- BU's power play provided the lone goal of the third as Vlasic's attempt from the center point eluded BC netminder Spencer Knight at 5:16.
- The Terriers got one last power-play opportunity late in regulation but were unable to take advantage of it and the game went to overtime.
- In the closing second of the extra session, Helleson got around a BU defender in the right circle to get in all alone against BU goaltender Ashton Abel before tucking the puck inside the right post right before the buzzer.
