BOSTON – Hitting the road for the first time this spring season, the Boston University women's soccer team will visit Holy Cross on Sunday, March 21. First kick from Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium is set for 11 a.m.
The game was originally scheduled for Friday, but due to expected weather and freezing temperatures this Friday night, the game was moved to Sunday.
Jenna Oldham was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week after having a career day against Colgate last Saturday, assisting on the opening goal before netting her first career strike as part of a 2-0 shutout.
Geovanna Pereira delivered the game-winning goal, which was also her second career game-winning-goal, in the third minute. Morgan Messner earned the 11th shutout of her career, while her save in the 60th minute landed as the No. 9 play on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays on Sunday morning.
Holy Cross earned a 2-1 victory over Lafayette in its season opener last Saturday. Caroline Harkins and Sophie Letteri were each recognized by the Patriot League as Harkins was named the Defensive Player of the Week, while Letteri was selected as the Goalkeeper of the Week. Harkins assisted on the game-winning goal and Lettieri made six saves in net.
The Crusaders scored twice in the second half to snap BU's nine-game win streak in the series in the last matchup in 2019, taking a 2-1 decision. Since joining the Patriot League, the Terriers have outscored Holy Cross, 17-3.
