Terriers Entertain Holy Cross Saturday at Nickerson Field

BOSTON - Returning home for the first time in a month, the Boston University women's lacrosse team will look to rebound against Holy Cross on Saturday, March 27. Opening draw from Nickerson Field is scheduled for noon.

BU came within one goal twice, but fell 14-9 at Colgate in its Patriot League opener on Sunday. Emily Vervlied continued her tear as she led the team in goals (3), points (4), ground balls (4) and caused turnovers (3). Vervlied holds the overall marks for tops on the team in goals (11), assists (6), points (17), caused turnovers (6) and is tied for the lead in ground balls (9).

Ava Barry is closing in on 100 career points, as she is eight points away from reaching the milestone. Barry has been consistent on the attack in each of her four seasons and owns 67 goals and 25 assists over her career.

The Crusaders are coming off a 19-8 defeat at UMass on Sunday, though it stands at an even 2-2 overall and 1-1 in Patriot League action. Jolie Creo leads the Patriot League in points (6.0) and goals per game (4.5). On the defensive end, Grace Flink leads the conference in saves per game (11.0) and ranks sixth with a .463 save percentage. Amanda Belichick, daughter of New England Patriot head coach Bill Belichick, is in her sixth season at the helm of the program.

BU has dominated Holy Cross in the all-time series and holds an 11-1 command, which includes a 6-0 mark in Patriot League games. The Terriers hold a nine-game win streak dating back to 1997. BU has won by a nine-goal margin in each of the last two games against the Crusaders.
