BOSTON - Highlighted by 12 athletes turning in BU top-10 all-time performances in their respective events, the Boston University indoor track & field teams turned in impressive showings at the Battle in Beantown on Saturday at the Track & Tennis Center.
BU hosted eight other schools -Â Albany, Boston College, Harvard, Northeastern, Rutgers, UConn, Massachusetts and UMass Lowell - and had 15 athletes finish in the top four of their respective events.Â
The day also served as a kickoff to the Jarred Rome Shot Put Invitational as the Terriers unveiled the event to honor their former assistant coach. The event took place in the infield of the TTC and will serve as a remembrance to one of this country's greatest throwers and throws coaches. Senior
Bridget Bishop moved up to third on BU's all-time list with a throw of 14.33 meters (47'.25"), placing her third. Freshman
Gabe Hickman took second on the men's side with a toss of 17.28 meters (56'8.5"), good for sixth on the school's all-time list.Â
On the women's side, BU took first in two events as senior
Andrea Claeson won the 3000-meter run in a time of 9:20.33, moving her up to eighth all-time at BU in that event. Freshman
Emma Lawrence topped the competition in the triple jump with a leap of 11.98 meters (39' 3.75"), good for ninth all-time at BU.
Freshman

Dakota Jackson took third in a time of 6.77, which would have broken the 22-year-old school record that Makoyawo topped last month.
Senior
Kasim Cisse set a personal record in the high jump, finishing first with a height of 6' 9.75", which is the highest by a BU jumper since 1986.
Senior
Meghan Convery finished runner-up in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:09.86, which was the fastest by a Terrier since 1997 and good for fifth all-time in program history.Â
In the men's 3000 meters, senior
