BOSTON - Seniors
Kasim Cisse (high jump) and
Declan Ritzenthaler (pole vault) had runner-up finishes to pace the Boston University men's track & field team at the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Sunday at the BU Track & Tennis Center.
Cisse turned in a jump of 2.05 meters (6'8.75") while Ritzenthaler set an indoor PR with a vault of 4.80 meters (15'9"), which ties him for fourth on BU's all-time top-10 list.
In the shot put, freshmen
Gabe Hickman (17.02m / 55'10.25") and
Cole Tucker (16.69m / 54'9.25") finished third and fifth, respectively, while senior
Fred Lu was eighth with a toss of 15.22 meters (49'11.25").
Junior
Charlie Hammel was impressive in the 5,000-meter run, finishing ninth in a time of 14:19.75 to crush his personal indoor record. Classmate
Kevin Murphy was the Terriers' top finisher in the 3,000, tying for 24th in a time of 8:10.84.
Seniors
Aksel Laudon (4:08.80, 26th) and
Marcel Aubry (4:09.6, 28th) had a pair of top-30 finishes in the mile run while junior Foster Mallek set a personal record in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:51.63, good for 15th.
The Terriers will return to action on Saturday (Feb. 5) when they host the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational.
