BOSTON - The Boston University men's track & field team hosted the second day of the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday at the Track & Tennis Center.
Seniors
Kasim Cisse (high jump, 2.06m) and
Declan Ritzenthaler (pole vault, 4.95m) won their respective events with Ritzenthaler setting a new personal record. Sophomore
Jack Frisbie took seventh in the high jump (1.96m).Â
Sophomore
Dakota Jackson finished second in the 60-meter dash in a time of 6.83 while classmate senior
Uchenna Nwosu finished eighth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.63). Nwosu's preliminary time of 8.00 was just .02 off his personal best.
The shot put featured four Terriers in the top 10, led by freshman
Gabe Hickman, whose top toss of 17.18 meters placed him second. Classmate
Cole Tucker was fourth with a personal-record throw of 16.62 meters while seniors
Dave Vovor (14.92m) and
Fred Lu (14.60m) placed sixth and ninth, respectively.
The Terriers' top finishers in the distance events all set personal bests as senior
Marcel Aubry ran a 4:07.13 in the mile, junior
Charlie Hammel posted a time of 8:17.24 in the 3000-meter run and junior
Kevin Murphy finished the 5,000-meter run in 14:12.59.
The night was highlighted by the fastest 5,000-meter race in American history as the top three finishers all went sub-13:00. The winner, Grant Fisher, set a new American record with his time of 12:53.73.Â
