The No. 13/14 Boston University men's ice hockey team will continue its 100th season this weekend when the Terriers face Boston College in a home-and-home series.
This weekend's series was originally scheduled to begin Friday night in Chestnut Hill, but that game has been postponed and rescheduled for Sunday at 4. Sunday's showdown will be televised on NESN. Saturday's game at Agganis Arena remains scheduled for 6:30 p.m., and will also be on NESN.
Effective Feb. 25, 2022, proof of vaccination will no longer be a requirement to enter Agganis Arena, the Case Center, and all other ticketed events open to the general public & BU community. TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU extended its win streak to seven games when it claimed the program's 31st Beanpot title with a 1-0 victory over Northeastern on Feb. 14.
- The Terriers come off their bye week boasting a 13-1-1 record in their last 15 games, with that one tie being against BC on Dec. 10 at Agganis.
- BU has averaged 3.73 goals per game in that stretch while allowing just 1.47 goals per game.
- During the seven-game win streak, the Terriers have averaged 4.0 goals per game and allowed an average of 1.43 goals per game.
- Olympian Drew Commesso is back from Beijing; he finished the tournament with a .963 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average; both marks ranked second among all goalies who made at least two appearances.
- Commesso, who went 6-1-0 with a .946 save percentage and a 1.70 GAA in January, was selected as a semifinalist for the Richter Award on Tuesday.
- Junior Domenick Fensore, who assisted on sophomore Dylan Peterson's Beanpot-winning goal, leads the Terriers in both points (25) and assists (24).
- Junior Robert Mastrosimone (11g, 11a) leads the Terriers in goals and is third in points with 22 behind Wilmer Skoog's 24 points (10g, 14a).
- Sophomore Vinny Duplessis is the reigning Hockey East Goaltender of the Week, having earned the honor two of the last three weeks.
- He is 4-0-0 with two shutouts in February, posting a 1.00 GAA and a .958 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORY
- The Comm. Ave. rivals have met 285 times and the Terriers lead the series, 136-128-21 (.514).
- No other opponent has appeared on BU's schedule more often.
- Northeastern is the next closest, having faced BU 245 times since the 1930-31 season.
- Both programs are celebrating their 100th season in 2021-22.
- The first game in BU Hockey history was on Feb. 6, 1918, against Boston College at Boston Arena.
- BU and BC have played each other to an even 6-6-3 record since the start of the 2016-17 season.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES

- Marc McLaughlin, who skated for the United States at the Olympics with teammate Drew Helleson (and Terrier sophomore Drew Commesso), leads BC with 19 goals and 25 points.
- Canadian Olympian Jack McBain has tallied 24 points on 13 goals and 11 assists.
- Brandon Kruse leads the Eagles with 19 assists and is one of six BC skaters with at least 20 points.
- Eric Dop has started 26 of the 27 games in which he has appeared, going 8-13-5 with a 3.12 goals-against average and an .887 save percentage.
