BOSTON – The Boston University women's basketball team plays in its third road game in its last four contests when it heads to Army West Point for a duel this Wednesday (Feb. 9). Opening tip is scheduled for 6 p.m.
 
After having its three-game winning streak snapped against Lehigh last Saturday, BU moved into a tie with Holy Cross (9-2 PL) for the top spot in the Patriot League standings. The Terriers are in the midst of a five-game stretch vs. above .500 opponents, with four taking place outside of Boston. However, BU is 4-1 away from home against league foes this year.
 
Army West Point also had a recent win streak come to a close, placing them sixth in the league. The Black Knights are three games behind the Terriers and Crusaders, and two games behind third-place Lehigh.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU fell to Lehigh 68-65 last Saturday at Case Gym.
  • The Terriers scored 30 points in the second quarter, the second-most in a quarter in program history since the NCAA moved to quarters in 2015.
  • Down one possession with 6.5 seconds to go, BU had a chance to send the game to overtime on a three, but the shot was off the mark.
  • Freshman Alex Giannaros paced the Terriers with 22 points, drilling her first four three-pointers of the game. She also added three steals.
  • Juniors Sydney Johnson and Maren Durant posted 19 points and 15 rebounds, respectively.
  • BU has only lost to the Mountain Hawks in Patriot League play to this point. The Terriers have also not lost two straight games since Dec. 19-21, 2021.
  • In her last seven games, Johnson is scoring 20.2 points per game on 49.1 percent shooting. She ranks second in the league with 18.2 points per game vs. PL foes.
  • Giannaros is tied for fourth at 14.2 points per contest, and second with 2.4 triples per matchup as well.
  • Since snagging a career-high 17 boards in the opening matchup against the Black Knights, Durant is averaging 11.2 rebounds per game. Sophomore Caitlin Weimar has grabbed 10.1 rebounds per game in her last seven.
  • The Terriers are a perfect 9-0 this season when playing at night. Wednesday is also the day of the week that BU has the most wins, with six.
  • BU has started nine different lineups this year, winning at least one game with eight of them, and multiple games with four.
 
SCOUTING THE BLACK KNIGHTS
  • Army West Point is 12-9 on the year, and 6-5 in Patriot League play.
  • Most recently, the Black Knights had their four-game winning streak end against Holy Cross, 74-54. That streak followed a span of four losses in six games.
  • Army leads the Patriot League and ranks 24th in the nation with 42.4 rebounds per game as well as 15.1 offensive boards per contest this season.
  • The Black Knights also pace the league in free throws made (235).
  • Alisa Fallon leads Army regulars with 12.6 points per game and 45 assists. Sabria Hunter averages 10.8 points and 9.9 rebounds per matchup, and ranks seventh in Division I with 4.5 offensive boards per game.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Wednesday marks the 24th all-time meeting between BU and Army West Point.
  • The Terriers sport the 13-10 edge, having won three in a row and 10 of the last 12 matchups dating back to 2017.
  • In the first meeting this season, BU earned a 64-56 victory at Case Gym on Jan. 12. That margin is the smallest in a Patriot League win for BU this year.
  • In that contest, Giannaros registered her career-high with 24 points along with four assists. Johnson added 14 points. Murray dropped 20 points for the Black Knights, but Fallon was held scoreless on thee shots.
  • The Terriers are 6-5 all-time in West Point, but have won five of the last six road games vs. Army.
