BOSTON – With six non-league games in its rearview mirror, the Boston University women's lacrosse team ignites Patriot League play with a home matchup against Army West Point on Saturday (Mar. 12) from Nickerson Field. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m.

Saturday begins the only stretch of 2022 where BU will play consecutive home games. Last year, the Terriers went 3-1 against PL foes at Nickerson Field. BU aims to win its third consecutive Patriot League home lidlifter, which would be the first time during the program's tenure in the league.

Army West Point carries a five-game winning streak into the contest. During that stretch, the Black Knights have a +6.4 scoring margin, holding three opponents under 10 goals. The road game is the third in the last four games for Army.

The Terriers are hosting their One Love game in support of the One Love Foundation, is a national non-profit organization with the goal of ending relationship abuse, empowering young people with the tools and resources they need to see the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships and bring life-saving prevention education to their communities.

In addition, the game is the first part of a BU lacrosse doubleheader, as the men's program hosts Bucknell at 4 p.m. There is free admission for youths in eighth grade and below, and a free taco bar is available for all fans.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • In their last contest, The Terriers dropped a 13-12 road contest to Quinnipiac back on Mar. 5.
  • BU eliminated a 12-8 deficit with four fourth-quarter goals within 3:12, but the Bobcats got the game-winning goal with 8:45 remaining.
  • Sophomore Kendall Sims scored a career-high four goals, while classmate Kaelin Isaacson tallied her first three points as a Terrier.
  • Freshman Matty Spaeth also added four points on two goals and two assists.
  • Junior Jennifer Barry racked up 15 draw controls, while classmate Lauren Kaye scored all of her three goals during the fourth-quarter comeback.
  • Barry is up to second in the nation with 11 draw controls per game, joining Duke's Maddie Jenner as the only student-athletes in Division averaging more than 10 per contest.
  • The Lake Grove, N.Y. native is eight draw controls away from Danielle Etrasco for fifth all-time (157), and 25 away from Jill Horka's single-season record (91) with 11 games to play in the season.
  • Kaye is fifth in the country with an .833 free position percentage. Five of her team-leading 11 goals have come from the 8-meter arc.
  • Spaeth is second on the team with eight goals, and has 10 points overall. With those two tallies against the Bobcats, she continued the streak of a freshman scoring in every game this year.
  • Sophomore Reilly Agres is fourth in the Patriot League with 8.33 saves per game.
  • Saturday's tilt is the first and only Patriot League game of the weekend. The rest of the league opens up conference action next Saturday (Mar. 19).

SCOUTING THE BLACK KNIGHTS

  • The Terriers have the 3-2 lead in the series, but the Black Knights have won the last two matchups.
  • In the last meeting on Apr. 17, 2021, Army captured a 15-8 win in Boston. BU got four points from Emily Vervlied and erased two three-goal deficits, but the Black Knights held the Terriers to a trio of tallies in the second half.
