Terriers Compete at Duke Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. – The Boston University track & field teams competed at the Duke Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Morris Williams Stadium.
 
Freshman Toby Makoyawo won both the 100- and 200-meter dash events, posting a 10.26 in the 100 before turning in a 20.62 in the 200. Both times were wind-aided and would have been facility records if they counted.
 
Senior Meghan Convery's debut in the 3,000-meter steeplechase was a huge success, as she ran the second-best time in school history at 10:29.08.
 
After posting a strong wind-aided time last weekend in the 110-meter hurdles, sophomore Uchenna Nwosu was able to post a recordable time on Saturday at 14.17 seconds, good for fourth in the BU record book.

Junior Foster Malleck turned in the fifth-best 1,500-meter run in program history as his time of 3:43.66 was good for 12th in the event. In the high jump, senior Kasim Cisse's high jump mark of 2.03 meters was good for fourth.

Freshman Kiana Lino bumped up her personal record in the shot put with a toss of 14.43 meters. Classmtae Asia Hamilton had another impressive meet, finishing sixth in the triple jump (11.88m) and ninth in the long jump (5.81m). 

Sophomore Emma Kowalski added a 10th-place finish in the discus with a mark of 46.21 meters. 

The Terriers will return to action on Friday when they kick off competition at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.
