No. 3 Lightweights Compete at Eastern Sprints

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Boston University women's lightweight rowing team returned to the Eastern Sprints for the first time since 2019 on Sunday on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, ending the day with three top-three finishes.

The Terrier's best result came in the varsity lightweight four B event, when coxswain Mayela Gaol and stroke seat Annelise Escudero helped their boat to a winning time of 7:45.34, ahead of Harvard-Radcliffe, Wisconsin and Princeton.

Grace Beery and Lindsay Albert earned a third-place finish (7:43.87) in the varsity lightweight double, behind first place Princeton and second place Harvard, but ahead of Gordon. Erin Smith and Mayberry Mark finished second (7:54.41) behind Harvard in the varsity lightweight double B event.

The Terriers varsity four, which was coxed by Nora Chan and stroked by Charlotte Duan posted a fourth-place finish with a time of 7:43.58, behind Wisconsin, Harvard and Princeton and ahead of Georgetown.

The varsity lightweight eight, which was led by coxswain Rayna Kuthiala and stroke seat Nina Palmer, concluded the day of racing for the Terriers placing just outside of the medals with a time of 6:45.17, behind Princeton, Georgetown and Harvard, but ahead of Wisconsin.

The team has next weekend off before traveling to Philadelphia for the Dad Vail Regatta from May 13-14.
