Foster Malleck and freshman
Toby Makoyawo took part in first-round competition on Wednesday during the opening day of the 2022 NCAA East Preliminary Outdoor Track & Field meet on the campus of Indiana University.
Malleck finished eighth in his heat of the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:49.20 while Makoyawo took sixth in the final heat of the 100-yard dash at 10.39 seconds. Neither Terrier advanced to Friday's quarterfinal round.
The women's portion of the competition starts on Thursday (May 26) with freshman Kiana Lino competing in the shot put, senior Emma Montoya racing in the 400-meter hurdles and sophomore Daisy Liljegren and graduate student Corinne Batsu running in the 10,000-meter run.
