BOSTON – In the midst of its longest winning streak in 11 years, the Boston University women's basketball program vies for its ninth-straight win when it heads to Colgate on Wednesday (Jan. 25). Opening tip is set for 7 p.m.
BU entered the week as one of just 21 teams in the country to be undefeated in conference play so far. During the streak, the Terriers have won four games on the road, outscoring teams by an average margin of 16.7 points.
Colgate seeks to improve to 6-4 on home court this year. Its last win at Cotterell Court came on Jan. 8 against Army West Point. During Patriot League play, the Raiders are 2-2 in Hamilton, N.Y.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU captured its eighth-consecutive win, defeating Loyola Maryland on the road, 65-57, on Jan. 21.
- BU's eight-game winning streak is the longest in a single season since the Terriers have joined the league.
- Senior Sydney Johnson scored 15 of her team-high 21 points in the second half, adding three assists and five steals.
- Junior Caitlin Weimar and sophomore Alex Giannaros each totaled 13 points.
- Senior Maren Durant secured 13 rebounds and three blocks.
- The Terriers are ranked second in the league with a NET of 139. Holy Cross, the other 8-0 team in the PL, is first at 136.

- Johnson needs 10 points to enter the top 20 in program history in career points. At 1,065 points, she trails Aly Hinton '10 (1,074).
- Senior Maggie Pina, who has 170 career three-pointers, needs two to tie Katie Terhune '04 for fifth place in the Terrier annals.
- As of Sunday morning (Jan. 22), Giannaros ranked fourth in the country in three-point efficiency, a metric calculated by Cerebro Sports that combines three-point volume and efficiency. The sophomore was one of four student-athletes to score 95 or higher.
SCOUTING COLGATE
- The Raiders enter the week with a 10-9 record, going 4-4 in league action.
- Colgate has lost three of its last four games, most recently falling to Holy Cross (59-49 on Jan. 18) and American (59-57 on Jan. 21).
- The Raiders started league play winning three of its first four, including a comeback victory over Lehigh, who sits ahead of Colgate in the standings by one game.
- Taylor Golembiewski is the lone Raider averaging double digits this year with 12.7 points per game.
- Morgan McMahon has scored 10.9 points per game against Patriot League foes.
- During league play, Colgate is first with a .270 three-point percentage defense and a +3.13 turnover margin.
SERIES HISTORY
- Wednesday marks the 27th all-time meeting between BU and Colgate in a series that began in 1989.
- BU maintains a 17-9 edge in the rivalry, having won five of the last six contests.
- The Terriers are 9-5 all-time on the road against the Raiders, winning six straight. BU's last loss at Colgate was on Jan. 18, 2017.
- In the first meeting between the schools on Jan. 11, the Terriers triumphed, 72-51.
