BOSTON – Having won its first three Patriot League games, the Boston University women's basketball program aims to boost its winning streak to four when it welcomes American to Terrier Town on Sunday (Jan. 8). Opening tip is set for 2 p.m.
The matchup marks a rematch of last year's Patriot League semifinal matchup. BU is one of two Patriot League teams to start the league slate 3-0, joining Holy Cross. The Terriers will host the Eagles as well as Colgate as part of a two-game homestand this week.
American, the defending Patriot League champion, is one of four PL programs that have won two of its first three league contests. The Eagles are 2-4 on the road this season.
Sunday's game marks the team's "Girl Dad" promotion. Dads and daughters can receive a "BU Girl Dad" sticker at the marketing table, while supplies last.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU captured its third-consecutive win, defeating Lafayette on the road, 66-48.
- Tied at 24-24 midway through the second quarter, the Terriers scored 36 of the game's next 46 points, leading by as much as 26 points.
- Junior Caitlin Weimar tallied her fourth-straight double-double, setting a career-high with 23 points and 10 buckets to pair with 12 rebounds. Fourteen of her points came in the second quarter.
- Senior Sydney Johnson scored the 1,000th point in her 86th-career game with a jumper early in the fourth quarter.

- Four Terriers are shooting over 40 percent from three this season while making 10 or more three-pointers: Giannaros (68.4 percent), Pina (45.6 percent), Johnson (42.4 percent), and senior Liz Shean (41.7 percent).
- Since the season opener of Nov. 7, Giannaros has made 11 of her last 13 three-pointers.
- Weimar is tied for first in the Patriot League and tied for 10th in Division I with eight double-doubles. During Patriot League play, she is first with 13.3 rebounds per game, and second with 18.7 points per game and a .639 field goal percentage.
- Averaging 8.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game this season, Durant is the only Patriot League student-athlete to rank among the top 10 in both categories (sixth and seventh, respectively).
- In six home games so far this year, BU is averaging 68.2 points, 41 rebounds, and 18 assists per game at The Roof. The Terriers have shot 43.1 percent from the field and 42.3 percent from distance.
- BU seeks to start Patriot League play 4-0 for the fourth time in the last five seasons.

- The Eagles enter Monday's matchup with a 3-11 record, dropping their most-recent contest to Holy Cross, 62-45.
- American defeated Lafayette and Loyola Maryland in its first two Patriot League matchups.
