BOSTON – With just four regular season games remaining, the Boston University men's soccer team will conclude non-conference play by hosting rival Northeastern on Tuesday afternoon with action slated to begin at 4 p.m.
The contest is part of a BU soccer doubleheader, as the women will face Yale starting at 7 p.m.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU is unbeaten at home with a 5-0-1 record compared to the 2-3-2 road mark. Outside the 0-0 draw against Colgate, the Terriers have netted multiple goals in the five home wins, including most recently a 4-1 victory over Navy back on Oct. 7.
- The Terriers saw their seven-game unbeaten streak (5-0-2) snapped this past Saturday at Lafayette, 2-0. Overall, they've been shut out three times this year with a 2-0 defeat at Merrimack.
- Senior Eitan Rosen leads BU with 12 points off five goals and two assists, while graduate student Colin Innes owns a team-high six assists alongside a goal for eight points.
- Overall, six Terriers have earned at least one goal and one assist this fall.
- Senior Francesco Montali has started 12 games with a 0.92 goals against average and 0.686 save percentage with four shutouts.
- BU is averaging 0.3 more shots per game (9.8-9.5) despite opponents owning a 67-50 advantage in corner kicks.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
- Northeastern has been far more successful on the road this year at 3-3-1 compared to the 0-3-3 home mark. The Huskies own wins at Harvard (4-0), Quinnipiac (2-1) and UNC Wilmington (3-1).
- Following the win over the Crimson, NU has gone winless over seven games (0-5-2) with ties against Stony Brook (1-1) and Elon (2-2).
- Federico Tellez owns a team-high 12 points off eight assists and two goals, while Faser Brown has four goals.
- Gregor Shaw has started all 13 contests, posting a .702 save percentage and 1.31 goals against average with two shutouts.
- Opponents are averaging 0.3 more shots (11.1-10.8) with a 56-47 lead in corner kicks.
SERIES HISTORY
- The Terriers lead the all-time series, 22-10-2, with a 1-3-1 mark over the last five meetings.
- Northeastern responded to senior Ryan Lee's 47th minute goal with scores in the 62nd and 86th minutes, respectively to pull out a 2-1 home win last season.
- Two years ago at Nickerson Field, BU overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit with three goals.
