Terriers Wrap Homestand With Northeastern in Tuesday Night Derby

BOSTON – Concluding a three-game homestand, the Boston University men's soccer team will host non-conference rival Northeastern on Tuesday night with action scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is currently 4-0-0 at Nickerson Field for the second time in three years with wins against Colgate (1-0), Loyola Maryland (4-1), Navy (1-0) and Brown (3-1) by a combined score of 9-2.
  • In Friday's victory over Colgate, senior Ethan Gill became the sixth Terrier to score the game winner, as he joined junior Andrea Di Blasio at a team-high four goals.
  • Freshman Sebastian Otero leads the freshmen with three goals, all game winners, and is one point ahead of reigning PL Rookie of the Week Austin Mobray, who assisted on Gill's goal vs. the Raiders.
  • Sophomore Pharis Petrica also helped on Friday's goal to extend his team lead in both points (12) and assists (6). Junior Lapo Romieri is second in assists at four total with two goals for eight points.
  • Having started each of the last four games, senior goalkeeper Sheraz Saadat owns a .808 save percentage. Saadat, senior Ben Alexander and junior William Clavier have all claimed a solo shutout this year and helped the defense post a 1.27 goals against average.
  • Opponents are attempting 0.9 more shots with a 52-44 lead in corner kicks.
SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN
  • The Huskies are 1-4-1 on the road compared to their 1-2-2 home mark with a 2-1 win at Monmouth alongside a scoreless draw at Harvard and 1-0 loss at Boston College.
  • Seven Huskies have found the back of the net with Bryce Flowers owning four goals alongside an assist for team-high nine points.
  • Both Neil Devnani and Morris Matthews are tied for second in both goals (2) and points (6).
  • Tobias Jahn has played all 990 minutes at net for the Huskies, posting a .742 save percentage and 1.55 goals against average.
  • Opponents are averaging 1.2 more shots per game with a 52-38 advantage in corner kicks.
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Terriers lead the all-time series, 22-10-4, with a 14-5-2 home record.
  • The rivals have battled to a 1-1 draw in each of the last two seasons with the road team losing the one-goal lead in the second half both contests.
  • Four years ago, BU claimed a 3-1 home victory.
LOOKING AHEAD
  • BU will return to conference play by visiting American on Sunday (Oct. 19) at 1 p.m.
  • Both squads are currently tied atop the standings at 4-1-0 with 12 points apiece.
