BOSTON - The Boston University women's soccer team squares off against American on Saturday (Oct. 21). Opening kick is set for 1 p.m. at Nickerson Field.
BU (6-5-5, 3-2-2 PL) returns to league play for the final weekend of the regular season. To date, the Terriers sport a 5-3-2 record at home in 2023, going 2-1-1 in their last four matches.
American (3-7-4, 3-3-1 PL) has alternated wins and losses in their previous four contests. The Eagles are 1-5-1 outside of Reeves Field this season.
The Terriers will honor their senior class in a pregame ceremony.

Lily Matthews will be recognized. Williams has appeared in 11 career matches for the Terriers. Ferrara has played the most minutes of any defender this year. McNulty has totaled 31 career points. Matthews has started 54 career matches.

- The Terriers fought to a 1-1 draw against Yale to cap their 2023 non-conference slate on Tuesday (Oct. 17).
- Sophomore Margy Porta recorded her second goal of the season.
- Porta has notched tallies in back-to-back games for the first time in her career.
- Junior goalkeeper Celia Braun recorded four saves in her sixteenth start of the season.
- Twelve of the Terriers' 16 matches so far have been decided by one or fewer goals. BU has already matched the single season record for draws in a season (five).
- Sophomore Giuliana Gianino leads the Terriers in goals (5), assists (3), and points (13).

- American is tied with the Mountain Hawks in the Patriot League with 10 points, sporting a 3-3-1 league mark. Lehigh owns the head-to-head tiebreaker.
- Junior Brook Steel and freshman Lailah Stewart lead the Eagles with seven points.
- Junior Julia Kato has played every minute between the posts, totaling a 1.57 goals-against average and .690 save percentage.
- The Eagles were projected to finish eighth in the Patriot League preseason poll following a 2022 campaign where American was 2-5-2 against league foes, going 3-6-6 overall.
SERIES HISTORY
- Saturday marks the 11th all-time meeting between BU and American in a series that dates back to 2010.
- The Terriers are 8-0-2 all-time against the Eagles, winning the last three contests.
