TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU took five of six points from UMass this past weekend, earning a 5-2 win at Agganis on Friday before rallying for a 3-3 tie and shootout win on Saturday in Amherst.
- Freshman Macklin Celebrini scored twice in the third period to bring BU level on Saturday, with sophomore Quinn Hutson depositing the lone shootout goal.
- Junior goaltender Mathieu Caron, who made a season-high 38 saves in regulation and overtime, came up with two clutch stops during the shootout.
- Celebrini was honored several times this week, beginning on Monday when he was chosen as Hockey East Player of the Week.
- He followed that by earning Hockey East Player of the Month and National Rookie of the Month accolades.
- The first league rookie to win the league's October Player of the Month award, Celebrini led the nation with eight goals and was first among both NCAA rookies and all Hockey East skaters with 11 points.
- Sophomore Jeremy Wilmer leads Hockey East and is tied for sixth in the nation with eight assists through six games this season.
- Senior Luke Tuch enters the weekend on a three-game point streak, having tallied six points (2g, 4a) in that span.
- Sophomore Devin Kaplan lit the lamp on Saturday while sophomore Ryan Greene, senior Dylan Peterson and sophomore Lane Hutson found the back of the net on Friday.
- Lane's goal was part of a three-point effort in the 5-2 win.
- With Friday's victory, the Terriers improved to 18-3-0 in their last 21 contests at Agganis dating back to the 2021-22 season.
- BU was 4-0-0 against non-conference foes at home last season, including a 3-0-0 mark at Agganis and a 3-0-0 mark against ranked opponents.
HISTORY WITH NORTH DAKOTA
- The Terriers are 11-12-2 against North Dakota in 25 all-time meetings, but BU is 4-0-1 in its past five encounters with the Fighting Hawks.
- Most recently, BU bested North Dakota in Fargo, 4-3, in double overtime of a 2017 NCAA regional semifinal.
- BU is 2-0-1 against North Dakota at Agganis and 8-4-1 all-time against UND in Boston.
- The last time the Fighting hawks visited Boston was in 2015 for the Frozen Four at TD Garden, with BU earning a 5-3 win to advance to the national title game.
- On Nov. 22-23, 2013, BU earned a 3-1 win and skated to a 3-3 draw with the Fighting Hawks.
- The Terriers also skated to a 5-1 win over UND in the 2008 Ice Breaker at Agganis.
SCOUTING THE FIGHTING HAWKS
- North Dakota is 4-1-1 after earning a win (6-2) and a tie (2-2) against Minnesota State this past weekend.
- The Fighting Hawks also split a weekend series at then-No. 1 Minnesota on Oct. 20-21, bouncing back from a 4-0 loss with a 2-1 win.
- North Dakota's other signature win is a 2-0 triumph over current No. 5 Wisconsin.
- Fifth-year Garrett Pyke leads UND in assists (7) and points (7) while graduate student Hunter Johannes has scored a team-high five goals.
- Senior Ludvig Persson has started all six games for North Dakota, posting a .933 save percentage and a 1.65 goals-against average.
