BOSTON – Ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Boston University women's basketball program is back at Case Gym to host Le Moyne on Wednesday (Nov. 22). Opening tip from The Roof is set for 1 p.m.
BU (3-1) returns home having gone 3-0 in its first three contests in Terrier Town. During that span, the Terriers allowed just 52.7 points per game while shooting nearly 41 percent from the field.
Le Moyne (1-4) plays its third of nine-consecutive road matchups on Wednesday. Following the game, the Dolphins won't play again until Sunday (Dec. 3) at Richmond.
Showing its thanks to fans and supporters, BU will have giveaways and prizes for guests attending the game. More information will be available at the marketing table.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- The Terriers sustained its first loss in 2023-24, falling at Rider 58-55 on Saturday (Nov. 18).
- BU stormed back from a 14-point deficit late in the third quarter to take the lead, but a Broncs three-pointer with 3.3 seconds left sealed the result.
- Freshman Audrey Ericksen scored a team-high 13 points, and shot 3-of-6 from beyond the arc.
- Senior Kelsi Mingo and junior Alex Giannaros each tallied 10 points on five combined three-pointers.
- Sophomore Anete Adler, making her first-career start, snagged a career-high 12 rebounds.
- Sixty-five of Mingo's 110 career shots have come from beyond the arc, good for over 59 percent. She has hit nearly 37 percent of those tries.
- Giannaros is now two three-pointers away from 100 in her Terrier tenure.
- Senior Caitlin Weimar is four blocks away from 10th place in the Terrier annals, and five from 100 in a BU uniform. In her collegiate tenure, she has 939 career points and 698 career rebounds.
- Freshman Aoibhe Gormley leads the Patriot League and is tied for 33rd in the country with a 3.5 assist/turnover ratio.
- In its first four contests, BU's 54 points allowed per game is tops in the Patriot League. The Terriers have forced 18 turnovers per game on 8.5 steals per contest.
SCOUTING LE MOYNE
- The Dolphins are 1-4 this year, most recently tallying their first win as a Division I program, a 63-61 triumph at UMass Lowell in overtime on Nov. 18.
- In addition to the River Hawks, Le Moyne shares two other common opponents with BU: Colorado (a 97-38 loss on Nov. 8), and Colgate (Dec. 8).
- Lytoya Baker, the Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year last season, is the lone Dolphin averaging double figures with 14.4 points per game.
- Haedyn Roberts was a NE10 All-Conference Third Team selection, while Sydney Lusher was named the league's Rookie of the Year.
- Head Coach Mary Grimes is in her third season at the helm after garnering NE10 Conference Coach of the Year honors last season.
SERIES HISTORY
- Wednesday is the first all-time meeting between BU and Le Moyne.
- The Dolphins are the second of two programs the Terriers face for the first time. BU's previous game against Rider was the other.
- BU last faced a NEC school on Dec. 7, 2022, defeating Merrimack 73-65.
- As a Patriot League member, the Terriers are 5-0 against NEC opponents.
