BOSTON - The Boston University women's ice hockey team will return to Hockey East play this weekend beginning with a home matchup against crosstown rival Northeastern at 6 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 1). The Terriers will then travel to Providence to face the Friars on Saturday (Dec. 2) at 3 p.m.

Friday will serve as the Terriers' Pride Night with free BU pride decals, towels and flags available to fans. It will also be Deaf Studies Night with free admission for students/staff in deaf studies and there will be two interpreters on site. BU Athletics will also be promoting awareness for Save Pond Hockey along with BU Sustainability.


TERRIER TIDBITS

• BU is coming off a weekend split at the Smashville Showcase in Nashville, earning a 3-1 win over Robert Morris before falling to Minnesota State, 7-2, in a game that determined the tournament title.
• Junior Christina Vote scored a goal in each game in Nashville.
• Senior Lacey Martin leads the Terriers with 15 points this season and she is currently on a six-game point streak with eight points (1g, 7a) during the run.
• The Terriers' penalty kill ranks tied for first with UConn in Hockey East play at 87 percent, while their power play ranks tied for second at 25 percent.
• Senior Andi Calderone leads BU in plus-minus at +4. 
• Graduate student Alexa Matses leads the team with a 2.67 goals against average and a .897 save percentage. 
   

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES

• Northeastern has won its last two games and is coming off a midweek victory against Providence. 
• Junior Skylar Irving leads the Huskies in assists (13) and points (16) this season. 
• The Huskies are currently third in Hockey East with a 6-6-0 record. 
• Gwyneth Phillips has started all 18 games for Northeastern and is third in Hockey East for both goals-against average (1.23) and save-percentage (.949). 

SCOUTING THE FRIARS

• Providence is coming off a midweek loss against Northeastern. 
• Freshman Audrey Napp leads the Friars with five goals and seven points this season.
• Providence sits directly above the Terriers at eighth place in Hockey East with a record of 4-6-0. 
• Junior Hope Walinski has started the majority of Providence's contests, sporting a 2.88 goals-against-average and a .885 save percentage. 
   

SERIES HISTORY VS. NORTHEASTERN

• The Terriers are an even 32-32-9 all-time against Northeastern, including a 14-15-3 record at Walter Brown Arena.
• BU's last victory against the Huskies at Walter Brown Arena came on Oct. 8, 2021. 
• The Terriers opened the season with a home-and-home weekend against the Huskies on Oct. 6-7 and fell by scores of 4-1 and 2-0.
