ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Eleven Terriers wrapped up a successful trip at the Don Kirby Elite Meet on Saturday. In the two-day competition, BU notched six all-time top-10 performances in a meet that took place at the NCAA Indoor host site.
 
In the 200m dash, sophomore Leon Christian ran a 21.32 for the seventh-best BU time in the event. Freshman Jada Smith ran a personal best of 24.46 which keeps her at ninth in the all-time top-10 list.
 
Smith ran another impressive time in the 60m dash. She crossed the finish line with a time of 7.52 in the qualifying heat which made her the second-fastest all-time in the event. No Terrier has run that fast since 2012 when Shelby Walton ran a 7.53.
 
The 400m dash on the women's side also featured top-10 performances. Grad student Emma Montoya ran a 54.00 to beat her previous personal best by 1.71 seconds. Her time is the second-fastest in BU history and is just 0.6 seconds behind the school record. Senior Noelani Phillips also ran a top-five mark with a 54.41, good for the fourth-best all-time performance. 
 
Already a top program performer this season, the men's 4x400m relay improved by 0.29 seconds. Freshman Liam Gair, Christian, junior Max Gorriaran and freshman Logan Popelka ran a 3:12.47 to keep the fifth-best time in program history with the improvement.
 
The Terriers will be back in action for the Patriot League Championships which will take place on Sat., Feb. 25 and Sun., Feb. 26. Navy hosts this year's conference championship.
