BOSTON – Vying for a chance to secure its first Patriot League regular season championship outright, the Boston University women's basketball program travels to Bucknell on Saturday (Feb. 18). Opening tip is slated for 12 p.m.

BU, unbeaten in 14 league contests and holding a four-game lead in first place with four games to play in the regular season, needs either a win against the Bison or a Colgate win over second-place Holy Cross to capture the No. 1 seed for the Patriot League Tournament.

Bucknell, winners of six-straight, continues its push for a top-four spot, entering the weekend one game behind Lehigh and Army West Point for third and fourth place, respectively. The Bison lead the sixth-place Raiders by two games.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU captured its 14th-consecutive win, defeating second-place Holy Cross at home, 66-59, on Feb. 15. With the win, BU clinched at least a share of the Patriot League regular season title.
  • After trailing by as many as 15 points in the second quarter while the Crusaders shot 64 percent in the first half, the Terriers outscored the visitors 33-18 in the second half.
  • Senior Sydney Johnson scored 15 of her game-high 17 points in the final three quarters, adding six boards and five steals.
  • Classmate Maggie Pina and sophomore Alex Giannaros each posted 13 points, while junior Caitlin Weimar added 11 points.
  • The Terriers have now beaten every team in the Patriot League this season.
  • Entering Friday (Feb. 17), BU is one of six teams in the nation unbeaten in conference play.
  • With a win, BU would reach 20 wins for the first time since the 2012-13 campaign. The Terriers have had five 20-win seasons in program history.
  • BU is ranked third in the nation with a .395 three-point percentage, trailing only Iona (.420) and Gonzaga (.419).
  • Giannaros, Johnson, and Pina are each shooting career-bests on three-pointers at .557, .449, and .409, respectively.
  • The Terriers' field goal percentage defense is 23rd in the country at .362, while the team's own shooting percentage is 29th at .454.
  • During Patriot League play, Weimar ranks first with a .614 field goal percentage, fourth with 15.2 points per game, and fifth with 9.8 rebounds per game.
  • Senior Maren Durant is one of two Patriot League student-athletes to rank in the top 10 in the conference in both rebounds (seventh – 7.7) and assists per game (tied for seventh – 2.8).
  • Weimar and Durant need four and 12 more baskets, respectively, to reach 300 in their careers. Pina eclipsed that mark back on Feb. 11 vs. Lafayette.

SCOUTING BUCKNELL
  • The Bison have the second-longest active winning streak in the Patriot League entering the weekend, winning six in a row.
  • Bucknell's most recent victory was a 64-52 triumph at American on Feb. 15.
  • During the streak, the Bison have allowed just 46.8 points per game.
  • Bucknell is 6-5 at home this season, winning three of its last four at Sojka Pavilion.
  • Appearing in the Bison's last four games after missing nearly a month of action, Cecelia Collins is scoring a team-best 13.4 points per game.
  • Emma Shaffer averages 10 points and 9.1 rebounds per contest.
  • During Patriot League play, Tai Johnson has dropped 10.6 points on 44.4 percent shooting.

SERIES HISTORY
  • Saturday marks the 18th all-time meeting between BU and Bucknell in a series that began in 2014.
  • The Bison maintain an 11-6 advantage in the rivalry.
  • BU has won the last three matchups, however.
  • The Terriers are just 2-6 all-time on the road against Bucknell, but have captured those two wins in the last three contests in Lewisburg.
  • BU won the first meeting this season between the teams, 68-47, on Jan. 2.
  • The Terriers trailed for only 31 seconds in the game and out-rebounded the Bison, 42-25. Weimar collected 18 points and 16 rebounds, while Johnson racked up 15 points.
