Caitlin Weimar has been selected as the Patriot League Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 27, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Weimar captures the award for the third time this season, and for the first time since Jan. 3. She comes the first three-time Player of the Week since Chantell Alford in the 2012-13 campaign. Her three Player of the Week selections are the second-most this year.
In a 2-0 week for BU, Weimar averaged 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks on 65.6 percent shooting. On Wednesday (Feb. 22) against Army West Point, she dropped a career-high 32 points on 12-of-17 shooting, becoming the first Terrier to score at least 32 points on 12 baskets since Alex Young on Mar. 6, 2011. At Lehigh on Saturday (Feb. 25), she recorded her 14th double-double of the year with 24 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocks, draining nine of her 15 shots.
During Patriot League play in 2022-23, Weimar leads the conference with a .632 field goal percentage and 1.8 blocks per game. She also ranks third with 17.1 points per game and fourth with 10.1 rebounds per contest. Her .604 shooting clip on the year is currently the second-highest percentage by a Terrier in a single season.
The Terriers aim to become the first team in Patriot League history to finish conference play 18-0 when they travel to Holy Cross on Wednesday (Mar. 1). Opening tip is set for 7 p.m.
