BOSTON - Riding a three-game win streak, the Boston University women's ice hockey team will close out a three-game homestand on Friday (Feb. 3) when it welcomes No. 15 UConn to Walter Brown Arena.
The Terriers have already won their season series with the Huskies after sweeping a home-and-home weekend on Nov. 18-19.
BU is currently in sixth place in the Hockey East standings, one point ahead of Maine.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- The Terriers are 3-0-2 in their past five games and most recently earned a 2-1 overtime win over then-No. 11 Vermont on Saturday.
- Graduate student Andrea Brandli has allowed just one goal in each contest during the current three-game win streak.
- Freshman Brooke Disher is the reigning Hockey East Defender of the Week and was named to the Hockey Commissioners Association's watch list for the National Women's Rookie of the Year Award.
- Senior Julia Nearis ranks first on the Terriers in points (19) and goals (10).
- Junior Lacey Martin (5g, 10a) and senior Nadia Mattivi (4g, 11a) have 15 points each.
- Sophomore Christina Vote has six points (1g, 5a in the past five games and has 14 points (3g, 11a) on the year while junior Catherine Foulem has added 12 (4g, 8a).
- Mattivi has one assist in seven of the past nine games.
HISTORY WITH THE HUSKIES
- BU is 31-15-8 all-time against the Huskies, including a 16-7-4 record at Walter Brown Arena.
- In 2021-22, the Terriers took just two of nine points in their season series with the Huskies and had their season come to an end with a road loss to UConn in the Hockey East title game.
- Dating back to a victory over the Huskies in the 2010 Hockey East title game, BU is 28-6-5 against UConn.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
- UConn had a six-game unbeaten streak snapped last weekend, losing 5-4 at Maine in overtime on Friday before a 3-0 home loss to Northeastern on Sunday.
- The Huskies went 6-1-0 in non-conference play this season.
- UConn boasts a balanced scoring attack with 11 players having scored three or more goals.
- Senior Coryn Tormala has a team-best 17 points on seven goals and 10 assists and junior Jada Habisch is right behind with 15 points, including a team-best 11 goals.
- Senior defender Claire Peterson (6g, 8a) and classmate Claire Peterson (6g, 7a) have chipped in 14 and 13 points, respectively.
- Junior Tia Chan has started in goal for 20 of the Huskies' 29 games and sports a 1.63 goals-against average and a .937 save percentage.
