Women's Lacrosse Travels to Coastal Carolina Tuesday

BOSTON – The Boston University women's lacrosse team (5-0, 0-0 PL) will head back down to South Carolina for a weekday game against Coastal Carolina. The Terriers will face the Chanticleers on Tuesday (March 7) at noon.
 
TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU recently improved to 5-0 after a successful road trip to South Carolina with wins at Wofford, 15-8, and Presbyterian, 15-6. 
  • With its 5-0 record, BU is one of eight Division I and one of three Patriot League women's lacrosse teams that remains undefeated this season.
  • The Terriers gave up the fewest number of goals this season at PC with six. The most goals given up by BU so far has been nine.
  • BU has not scored fewer than 14 goals per game in its five contests thus far.
  • Thirteen individual Terriers have at least one goal on the season including freshmen Jayne Feeney and Elle Stevenson. Feeney has seven goals to her name while Stevenson logged her first at PC.
  • As a team, BU has scored 14 times off the free position with at least two free position goals per game.
  • The Terriers have recorded 10 total assists in four of their five games.
  • Both junior Reilly Agres and sophomore Arielle Hammer have made appearances in net this season. Hammer made her season debut during the fourth quarter at Wofford.
  • Seniors Jennifer Barry and Claire Gola lead the Terriers in goals scored with 12 apiece. Junior Tobey Tick is close behind with 11 of her own.
  • Gola also leads BU in ground balls with 14 and caused turnovers with 11.
  • Barry has 46 draw controls so far which is nearly a third of the way to tying her 2022 mark of 156.
 
SCOUTING THE CHANTICLEERS
  • Coastal Carolina is 2-2 so far this season, most recently defeating VCU 16-7.
  • The Chanticleers' two losses came against Elon, 16-15, and Davidson, 13-8.
  • CCU played Presbyterian in its first game of the season which it won 20-3.
  • The Chanticleers have played all four games at home this season.
  • Six freshmen and 28 upperclassmen make up the CCU roster, led by head coach Rachel Shuck Whitten who is in her second season at the helm.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • This will be the first meeting between BU and CCU.
